Sure its a great test of driving skill but for racing its more of a show pony track, a tech demo to show off the game engine as each developer tries to make their version the definitive one which is argued ad infinitum by the games followers. When a new game is announced you're pretty much assured of seeing a request for the Nordschleife too but for me (and looking at the low numbers online racing on the track for the games that have it I'm not alone) it doesn't make for good racing. *British tracks used as an example it could easily be a selection of Italian, French or Dutch club tracks for example Its very rare you will see requests for tracks like *Croft, Thruxton, Knockhill or Mallory Park yet those four tracks would probably provide just as good if not better racing than a lot of the modern tracks out there. When a new sim is announced immediately the speculation over tracks and cars starts and invariably the tracks on people's wish list almost always include the well known international tracks such as Monza, Silverstone, Spa, Suzuka etc (I consider myself guilty here too). I think as sim fans we're part of the problem.
